Overview linea

Only 3 hours  away from Rome, the ruins of Pompei are a tremendous place history buffs have to visit.

Pompei rises on a plateau of Vesuvian lava as long as it was buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of ash and pumice.  It was rediscovered in the 16th century but exploration started only in 1748 under the King of Naples Charles III of Bourbon, continuing systematically into the 19th century, until the most recent works of excavation, restoration and enhancement of the ancient city and its extraordinary wealth of architecture, sculptures, paintings and mosaics. You will also be given the chance to see the plaster casts of the men, women, children and animals who didn’t survive the most terrible eruption ever.

The archeological area of Pompei extends for approximately 66 ha, of which approximately 45 have been excavated.

Our native tour guides will take you in an unforgettable journey, ancient domestic life will come alive visiting the amazing Casa del Menandro. You will walk along the principal street of commerce, will visit the famous pleasure domes to end with the main square (The Forum) with all its markets.

It's a pleasant walk that will make you live again a life that dates to 2000 years ago.

We can also arrange full day tours of Pompei and Herculaneum or Pompei and Amalfi coast
